Forgiveness
I watched a Nooma video today called "Luggage." It was about how we, as humans, carry all this extra baggage with us. If we could just let go when something happens, then we can truly feel what forgiveness is. But in order to do this, the person you have held below you must be wished well by you. And you have to mean it. You can't fake forgiveness. You have to truly hope that this person leads a good life, and wish them the best in everything, as you would do anyone else. The thing that really got me though, is why do we hold grudges? What I have realized is that all humans are understanding of imperfection until someone hurts them, abuses them, pushes them away, lies to them, whatever. Why can't we understand that no one is perfect? No one is God. Well now I have some of you thinking...They hurt me so bad though, I can never forgive them! What if God said that about us? What if God just completely shunned us after Adam and Eve? What if our sins weren't forgiven? We would be living in a different world....well as a matter of fact we wouldn't be alive at all. We would be in hell. Isn't that crazy? God forgives us for sinning everyday, but we can't forgive another human being for hurting us?
